In 2017 at Cornell, Eugenia Xiao ‘14 received a Freedman Award to conduct an ethnographic study for her proposed undergraduate honors thesis, “Lotus Doctors: Sacred and Secular Practices in a Tzu Chi Hospital” in Taiwan. At Poly, Eugenia was multi-talented: She was a Livingston Scholar, won a History Award and a senior Painting Award, and served as a valued member of the Gray Key Society. She earned a BA from Cornell and then a MS in Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing. In 2019, after doing research on emergency medicine and healthy aging, Eugenia became a registered nurse at the Manhattan Center for Headache and Neurology.
